Nearly twenty-five years ago, the Kalamazoo River Superfund Site was established in response to extensive PCB contamination in the river. Eighty miles of the Kalamazoo River and some of its tributaries are being cleaned up, one section at a time. One of those sections recently cleaned up: Portage Creek. Connect checked in with the EPA to find out how the work was done, and how the creek was reconstructed.

Last summer, we told you about a new Nature Preserve on KL Avenue. This fall, volunteers for the Pfizer United Way Day of Caring spent a day working in the Preserve.
