The Government Production Services Unit (GPSU), which was formed in July 2010, is a division of Public Media Network that handles all media production for the six municipalities it serves. These municipalities, all located in Kalamazoo County, include: Comstock Township, the City of Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo Township, Oshtemo Township, the City of Parchment, and the City of Portage.
The main responsibilities of the GPSU include:
- Gavel to Gavel meeting coverage
- Municipal event coverage
- The production of the monthly magazine show, Connect
- The production of Public Service Announcements
- The production of additional government related programming

Public Media Network provides a variety of services and resources to support the development of local, non-commercial radio and cable television programming. Formed in 1981 and serving the communities of Comstock Township, Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo Township, Oshtemo Township, Parchment and Portage, PMN has evolved into a vibrant community media organization supporting a wide spectrum of viewpoints and interests.
Our services include educational workshops on video production techniques, free use of our television and radio production facilities, and programming distribution on Channels 95, 96, 97, 98 and 99 on the Charter Cable system, channel 99 on AT&T and WKDS Radio 89.9 FM. We also offer an outstanding internship program that provides valuable work experience for future media professionals.
