The Government Production Services Unit (GPSU), which was formed in July 2010, is a division of Public Media Network that handles all media production for the six municipalities it serves. These municipalities, all located in Kalamazoo County, include: Comstock Township, the City of Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo Township, Oshtemo Township, the City of Parchment, and the City of Portage.
The main responsibilities of the GPSU include:
- Gavel to Gavel meeting coverage
- Municipal event coverage
- The production of two monthly magazine shows, Connect & K-12 360
- The production of Public Service Announcements
- The production of additional government related programming

Public Media Network provides a variety of services and resources to support the development of local, non-commercial radio and cable television programming. Formed in 1981 and serving the communities of Comstock Township, Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo Township, Oshtemo Township, Parchment and Portage, PMN has evolved into a vibrant community media organization supporting a wide spectrum of viewpoints and interests.
Our services include educational workshops on video production techniques, free use of our television and radio production facilities, and programming distribution on Channels 187 – 191 on the Charter Cable system, channel 99 on AT&T and WKDS Radio 89.9 FM. We also offer an outstanding internship program that provides valuable work experience for future media professionals.
